POSITION TITLE: ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL COMMERCIAL GRADE DEDICATION AND PROCUREMENT SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT

JOB DESCRIPTION FUNDAMENTALS:
Candidate shall demonstrate the ability to Qualify as an Electrical/Mechanical Commercial Grade
Dedication (CGD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engineer proficient in: developing Electrical/Mechanical
CGD packages; Component procurement processes; NQA-1-2008, Addenda NQA-1a-2009 CGD
requirements; 10 CFR 830; DOE, DOD or NRC CGD and Procurement requirements and guidelines, and
Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) guides. Successful qualified candidate will be assigned to the
Design Engineering (DE) Material Acquisition Engineering (MAE) Organization for CGD and Procurement
program implementation.

Candidate shall demonstrate the ability to implement the CGD and Procurement program tasks including:
Electrical/Mechanical CGD package preparation, technical evaluations and approvals; Procurement
requisition technical evaluations; Prepare CGD documents and assist with procurement requisitions in
accordance with requirements and procedures; Interpreting Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) references;
Determining equipment/component safety function; Identifying equipment/component performance
requirements; Confirming functional classification and service conditions; Determine and document
replacement item Like-for-Like or equivalency; Perform Failure Mode, Failure Mechanism and Effect
Analysis (FMEA); Identify and document component critical characteristics and performance acceptance
criteria; Identify dedication method(s) for verification of acceptance criteria; Perform CGD and
Procurement document review, comment, comment resolution and approval process; Perform presentations
to the CGD review board; Capable of performing CGD and Procurement program implementation
assessments.

Candidate shall demonstrate the ability to effectively participate in and contribute to the DE MAE task team
supporting and interfacing with the SRNS Design Authority Engineers.
Candidate shall demonstrate proficiency, experience and knowledge with: Equipment and component
testing; Performance data (environmental and seismic) evaluation; Standards and lab listings data collection
capabilities and uses for development of compliant CGD; FMEA; Determining and documenting component
Critical Characteristics (CCs).

Candidate shall demonstrate proficiency, experience and knowledge with Procurement requisition
processes.

Candidate shall demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately through reports,
evaluations, documents, procedures, review comment, comment resolution, e-mail, and oral presentations.
Candidate shall demonstrate the ability to coordinate, interface and communicate with management,
engineering, facility and operations personnel.

Candidate shall submit resume that includes reference to and objective evidence of compliance to each

Work Hours:
40 hour work week ending Sunday of each week, initial work schedule is Shift 32 - 4/10s (10 hours/day,
four days each week of Monday through Thursday). Alternate work schedules may be implemented; SRNS
utilizes various work schedules: 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week, Monday through Friday); Shift 33 -
4/10s (10 hours/day, four days each week Tuesday through Friday); 9/80s (9 hours/day, 5 days on week A
and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS Holidays. Each work day has a 30- minute lunch break.

Qualifications

BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Nuclear Engineering and five (5) years DOE, DOD or NRC nuclear CGD and Procurement experience,
-OR-
HS Diploma and ten (10) years DOE, DOD or NRC nuclear CGD and Procurement experience.

Ability to carry out Electrical/Mechanical CGD package preparation, technical evaluations and approvals.

Experience with DOE, DOD, or NRC nuclear facilities, projects, assignments in supply chain logistics, procurement processes and commercial grade dedication to perform tasks in accordance with Job Description Fundamentals.

CGD and Procurement SME experience, knowledge and familiarity with ASME NQA-1-2008, Addenda
NQA-1a-2009, DOE Orders and Guidelines, Code of Federal Regulations, Engineering Standards and
EPRI Guides.

Electrical/Mechanical CGD SME and procurement experience through project assignments, project
support, and/or valid work experience.

Ability to effectively write acceptable CGD documents, determine and document replacement item
Like-for-Like or equivalency, perform Failure Mode, Failure Mechanism and Effect Analysis (FMEA),
identify component critical characteristics, develop performance acceptance criteria, identify dedication
method(s) for verification of acceptance criteria, perform CGD and Procurement technical evaluations ,
and qualify as an Electrical/Mechanical CGD SME.

Proficiency with Computers and Software: Microsoft Word (required), Excel (required); File Maker Pro (required).

Proficiency with Computers and Software:  Intergraph Smart Plant Foundation (optional); Asset Suite (optional).

A security clearance is not initially required, however, candidate must be capable of obtaining a DOE
“L“ Clearance to perform assigned duties.
