Java Sofware Developer/Analyst

SUMMARY

The subcontractor shall provide development, maintenance, and audit support for the Project Controls Change Management System (PCCMS) and other Project Controls legacy application, which are in-house business process systems initiated and developed by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). The subcontractor will be responsible for participating in the full software life cycle of these systems. This includes resolving assigned production support problem tickets, interfacing with the customer to replicate problems, and implementing code modification to support applications. 

The subcontractor must possess effective and professional communication skills, both written and oral, when interacting with Information Technology (IT) staff and customers.

The subcontractor will adhere to all required SRNS IT protocols and standards in the development and support of computer system applications and will be available during normal business hours for questions, resolve problems, etc. 

The subcontractor should be able to work with little to no direction to complete assigned software development / maintenance tasks and system / process analyst tasks. Be able to produce quality, easily maintainable application code.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Programming Support
a.    Provide Java programming support for existing and new applications for the web.
b.    Execute on the development, implementation, and testing of developed solutions to ensure business requirements are satisfied and implemented accurately.
c.    Ensure all application source code is managed in the code repository
d.    Ensure all applications are documented in Configuration Management System
2.    Procedures
a.    Utilize ITS Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guides such as software, configuration, and project management policies
3.    Customer Service
a.    Actively manage and improve customer relationships through regular communications, timely completion of agreed-upon milestones and service reliability.
b.    Assist customers in defining requirements so that ITS architecture is not compromised.
c.    Understand customer priorities and objectives and take an active role in accomplishing these objectives.
4.    Communications
a.    Generate weekly status reports to the Project Manager and Subcontractor Technical Representative (STR)
b.    Mentor by sharing insights and prior lessons learned from previous experiences and by providing knowledge transfer about toolset and methodologies used.

Work Hours:
A flexible 40 hour work week is permissible and work details will be agreed upon and established by the STR or individual overseeing the subcontractor.  

A set schedule on work days/hours will be determined upon subcontractor's arrival. Each work day has a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
